Didyme smiled fondly at the child who had brought her so much joy. She had never wished more that she could return home. To experience this joy along side her family, then things truly would be perfect. But she knew she couldn’t. she she would gladly accept these small moments and these stories.
“I know caro, but you remember what I told you. No one can know of these meetings we have.”
Crawling over to her aunt, Renesmee wrapped herself around the vampire’s leg and rested her chin against the bend of Didyme’s knee. Her warm eyes caught aflame as she stared into crimson sparks. There was something about Didyme’s eyes that differentiated from the others of her kind. They held a void that could not be explained.
❝ I remember, zia, but I cannot help but wish for your presence in the castle. Zio Marcus is not happy. I think.. I think you could make him happy again. ❞
Didyme was laughing so hard that she would be out of breath if she were human. She didn’t want to think about how long it have been since she laughed this way.
“Oh piccolo, I am forever grateful to you for telling me these stories. You don’t know how it warms my heart to hear about them.”
Renesmee was unable to contain her laughter as she pressed her palm against her forehead and pretended to faint. Immersed in a sea of flora and fauna, the hybrid smiled cheekily.
❝ If only you could be in my stories, zia, then they would be perfect! ❞
