“You know I would give you human blood if I could but, it’s to dangerous now.” Standing up Edward moved to hold her at his side so he could move around. Rubbing small circles on her back Edward rocked her form side to side. “If you can go the rest of the week I’ll take you hunting just you and me for some lions.” It wasn’t human blood but, it was more then deer blood.
Removing her leather gloves, Renesmee pressed a single hand against her father’s chilled cheek. She showed him memories of her previous attempts to capture an animal and the fire that was burning in the pit of her throat. She was a growing child, who was maturing at an impeccable pace, and she needed her nutrition.
Putting the drink away Edward lowered himself to his daughter’s level. “You need to get use to animal blood. Grandad can’t keep taking from work or we’ll have to leave.” Brushing her hair out of her face he pressed a kiss to her forehead.
❝ Animal blood is yucky. ❞
Renesmee held her arms out for her loving father, who pulled her into his grasp without a second thought. It has been an entire week since the family’s decision to change the hybrid's vampiric diet to vegetarian. As a result, she’s been very irritated, throwing tantrums and suffering from migraines.
Edward took the cup of human blood away from his daughter. “I told you, you’re switching to animal from now on. This is for emergencies.”
Renesmee frowned, reaching out for the plastic cup from her hiding spot. It sucked having a mindreader as a father sometimes; he could find you anywhere.
❝—but animal blood makes my throat all tingly, daddy! ❞
